2027 Airstream Lineup

What's New in Gainesville's 2027 Airstream Lineup

Springs country gets its own take on this year's Airstream changes, from a new floor plan to faster water heaters.

2027 is one of Airstream's biggest model years in a while, with three new floor plans, a fresh look for Flying Cloud, faster water heaters, and smarter climate control across much of the lineup. A good number of these updates are already on our lot at Airstream of Gainesville.

Ginnie Springs and Ichetucknee Springs are both about a 30-minute drive from here, and Paynes Prairie's wild bison herd roams a 21,000-acre savanna just south toward Gainesville. Winters aren't part of the equation in this part of Florida. Humidity is for most of the year, so Airstream's changes impacting climate control and water systems this year land differently than they would somewhere that regularly gets cold.

Here's what's changed model by model, and how it plays out for the kind of camping people do around Gainesville.

The New World Traveler 17RB Lands at Airstream of Gainesville

Airstream adds the World Traveler 17RB to its 2027 lineup, a smaller sibling to the 22RB built for short, frequent trips rather than long-distance towing. Tubing the Ichetucknee or spending an afternoon at Ginnie Springs is the kind of weekend this floor plan has in mind, no heavy-duty truck required.

It carries over the 22RB's bright white interior in two cushion colors and keeps weight down by skipping the bigger panoramic and door windows for dual-pane acrylic glass instead. The heating and cooling system tucks under the bench seat rather than adding roof weight. Two 20-pound propane tanks and a lightweight awning come standard. You can also expect standard features such as a rearview camera and bedding kit. Owners who want to go further off-grid can add a solar package, lithium power, and a microwave.

First-time buyers, or anyone towing with a mid-size SUV instead of a full-size truck, will find the 17RB is the easiest way into the 2027 lineup.

Trade Wind 27FB: Built for Off-Grid Trips Near Gainesville

Trade Wind's identity has always been distance from hookups, a big lithium bank paired with a strong solar setup built to go further than the rest of the lineup. For 2027, it gets a new floor plan: the 27FB, a front-bedroom layout sleeping up to five. Airstream showed it publicly for the first time at the Florida RV SuperShow in January 2026, held right here in the state, before it landed on dealer lots this year.

That range matters most once you're past the springs and into places like O'Leno State Park or a stretch of the Suwannee River corridor, where hookups thin out fast. The 27FB adds Trade Wind's recirculating water heater on top of its existing setup, delivering hot water right away instead of running cold water down the drain while you wait.

Florida humidity flips the usual logic on this one. It's less about staying warm and more about not standing around, dripping, in the heat after a swim, waiting on water that's slow to catch up.

Rangeline 21PL: Airstream's Newest Touring Coach for 2027

Rangeline picks up a second floor plan for 2027, the 21PL, joining the existing 21PS. Its rear bench rides on an L-track system, sliding between seating, a full lounge, or clearing out entirely for cargo, useful for a family weekend at the springs one trip and a gear haul out to O'Leno the next.

The 21PL sleeps up to four without a pop-top roof, using a powered loft bed that lowers over the converted lower bench, and both the 21PL and 21PS pick up two new colors this year: Lunar Gray and Onyx Black. Underneath, it runs on a single-fuel setup, lithium power and a 2.8kW generator drawing straight from the same gas tank as the Ram ProMaster chassis, no separate propane to manage.

For anyone weighing Trade Wind-level range against something easier to park and maneuver, the 21PL is worth cross-shopping directly against it. Both are built for the same kind of trip past cell service, just in different shapes.

Flying Cloud Gets a New Look at Airstream of Gainesville

Willow Green and Canvas Cream are the two new color packages replacing Flying Cloud's older options for 2027, both built around a light wood-grain laminate with clean, solid-color cabinet fronts. It's a genuinely different look inside, calmer than the outgoing décor.

The functional change underneath matters more than the colors do around here: a recirculating water heater, the same one landing on Trade Wind. Rinse off after a day at Gilchrist Blue Springs and you'll notice it immediately, hot water arrives fast instead of making you wait it out in the heat.

International's Water Heater Gets an Upgrade in Gainesville

Nothing changes about International's floor plans for 2027. What does change sits underneath the sink: the same recirculating water heater going into Flying Cloud, cutting the wait for hot water and wasting less propane in the process.

A second, more visible update lands here too: new marker lights, part of the refined-look refresh rolling out across Airstream's traditional aluminum trailers this year.

Atlas Adds More Room and a New Look for 2027

Atlas picks up a handful of practical updates this year. The 25MS has a tow rating of 5,000 pounds and an accompanying hitch rating of 500 pounds. These numbers are especially useful if a boat is coming along on a trip to one of the area's spring-fed rivers. Every Atlas model also gets larger pedestal tables inside, and the 25RT adds a belted jump seat behind the driver, bumping seating from two to three without losing its two-person sleeping setup.

All Atlas models move to a new color scheme, Stonehaven, replacing the older Modern Greige option. The 25RT now offers four total color choices, more than it's had before, worth comparing against a travel trailer if you're deciding which shape fits your next trip better.

Interstate's Screen Door Gets a Real Fix for 2027

Several Interstate trims, the 24GT, 24GTX, 19GT, 19GTX, and 19X, pick up one of the more practical fixes in the entire 2027 lineup: a new pleated pass-through screen door, four inches wider than before, with the old long brush seal gone for good. That's a real upgrade in a place where the bugs show up right on schedule at dusk and a screen door that actually seals matters. The material resists pet damage and holds up better overall, and a stepwell storage cubby now comes standard.

The step-well itself changed too, two inches wider, a durable kickplate instead of the old wood closeout, lit by the factory Mercedes light. Ask the team at Airstream of Gainesville which Interstate configurations are currently on the lot if this is the specific feature you're chasing.

Basecamp's Heat Pump Was Built for This Kind of Heat

The Airstream Basecamp series receives a highly practical mechanical upgrade for the 2027 model year by transitioning its climate control system to an advanced heat pump air conditioning unit. By replacing the older electric heat-strip layout, this new system cools the trailer efficiently in peak summer humidity and reverses its cycle to provide warmth when ambient temperatures drop. Airstream emphasizes that this transition delivers more energy-efficient climate control overall.

However, off-grid travelers should understand the system's power requirements. While running any compressor-driven air conditioner off-grid at a hookup-free campsite like Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park still requires heavy shore power or an external generator, the heat pump completely changes the game during cooler weather windows.

By reversing its cycle to heat the cabin using high-efficiency electrical power rather than burning through your limited onboard LP gas tanks, it dramatically extends your resource stamina. For Florida campers looking to navigate unpredictable shoulder-season weather without constantly monitoring their propane levels, this engineering pivot transforms the 2027 Basecamp into a far more versatile and resource-efficient adventure platform.

More Changes Across the 2027 Airstream Lineup in Gainesville

Globetrotter, Caravel, Classic, and Bambi all pick up new marker lights this year, a refined look layered onto the same classic shape Airstream has built for decades. Several of these models are already on the Alachua lot.

Nightstands on select models also gain built-in wireless charging, small, easy to miss on a spec sheet, genuinely useful at a campsite once you notice it. On the other end of the lineup, Airstream retired the Basecamp 16 in June 2026, narrowing that line to focus on its newer floor plans.

A real slice of the 2027 lineup is already parked at Airstream of Gainesville, from the brand-new World Traveler 17RB to the off-grid-built Trade Wind 27FB. A weekend at the springs, a longer trip out to Paynes Prairie, or a first-ever camping trip in a new trailer, whatever's pulling you toward an Airstream this year, there's likely something on this lot built for it.

The dealership sits at 12380 NW US Hwy 441 in Alachua. Not every color, package, or floor plan shows up on every unit here, so a call ahead saves a wasted trip if you've got something specific in mind.

A model year with this much change is worth judging in person rather than off a spec sheet. Stop by, and the team at Airstream of Gainesville can match you to the 2027 model that actually fits how you camp.
